Notifications sent to the API getting ‘application error’ response

An issue with an Elasticache update caused a problem with one of our Redis instances. This meant some notifications sent to the API while this was happening got a response with a 500 status code (‘application error’).

The outage lasted for 7 mins, from 4.57pm to 5.03pm. All services are now back to normal.
